Worth checking??
True Poker 2/4
I'm in MP with KQos 4 folds, I raise, folded to BB who calls. (2 players) K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB checks, I ....??? I know I am "supposed" to bet because I raised pre flop, but if my opponent has nothing, he will fold. I know there are like 2 cards that could hurt me, so is checking this HU the correct play? Re: Worth checking??
This veers heavily into psychological stuff--how you perceive your opponent, he how perceives you, how he perceives you perceive him, etc.
Absent any reads, my default would be to bet here. If he's going to proceed, he's leery you have a king. Check-calling the flop here is way suspicious. Just bet. He might call. He might raise. |

Re: Worth checking??
[ QUOTE ]
I'm in MP with KQos [/ QUOTE ] Generally KQo is for King_Queen_offsuit and KQs is for King_Queen_suited. I'm assuming the 'os' is offsuit. If you have a read that this player will call with anything, then bet. If you're read is this player is aggressive, then check/call & plan to raise later. Absent a read, I'd slowplay. That's just me. |

Re: Worth checking??
Sweet, yeah it was KQo, not that it made much difference on the flop I decided to check. Turn was J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I liked that card alot. I bet, he called. Turn was 2 of something. I bet, he called. Not sure wtf he had, but I like it.
Thanks all Derek |
