A buddy and I are thinking of going to AC on a Saturday and playing in the Borgata Open on Sunday. Rooms at the Borgata for Saturday night are $429!
Looking for a much cheaper alternative. |

Hotel? Probably not. But there are lots of dumpy motels in and around AC. They'll probably get you for $50-100 per night. There are motels around the boardwalk casinos and on the roads leading into AC all within a 15 minute drive to the Borgata. Do a yellow pages search for motels in Atlantic City. You'll get a long list. The Ascot motel next to the Tropicana looked ok from the outside with its orange facade and it has a pool too.

Call the Borgata, ask for the Poker room, talk to the poker room manager about a poker rate. Last fall I got a room for $79 thurs nite and $125 fri and sat nite. Plus I somehow accumulated $40 on my comp card playing 3/6 and 4/8 for 4 days although I really think they screwed up on that. But the poker room rates are great, the hotel is awesome and the poker action is unreal. Hopefully they still do poker room rates. good luck

It was pretty much what you'd expect from a small motel. The rooms are relatively clean, the guests and staff seem pleasant enough, and it's in a good location (about a 4 minute walk to the front desk of the Trop poker room, a block away from the boardwalk). The pool is clean, cold, and not crowded. It's a long way from the Borgata, but what isn't? Oh, and the price is right. |

Although I've never used it for AC, Priceline is a good way to get a room for cheap. I've got some really great deals in SF. Theres a site called "biddingfortravel.com" that shows you how to save the most money using priceline. You can actually see what people are getting rooms for as people post their results on their message board. IMO definetly worth looking in to. GL.

I've used Priceline.com and .com to get some great hotel rooms. But not in A/C.
Thanks for the Ascot review, I might give it a go. |

I just used Priceline for A/C. I tried for $60 in A/C by the casinos but they turned me down. I just got the Ramada out on the Black Horse Pike for $60 through Priceline. Not a great savings.
Have you gotten any good deals in A/C on Fridays or Saturdays or only midweek? |
