Default River Play?

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG+1 posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG folds, UTG+1 (poster) checks, MP1 folds, Hero calls, MP3 calls, CO folds, Button folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (5 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, MP3 checks.

Turn: (2.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, MP3 folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG+1 folds.

River: (5.50 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, BB calls, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 7.50 BB
Main Pot: 7.50 BB, between SB and BB.

Having read SSH, I am trying to make sure I have good reason to fold the river. Here was my thinking,1) I have to beat two opponents not one 2) a 7BB pot is not large 3) I see no real st8 or flush draws either player could be chasing. Comments on all streets appreciated.

One of the two players has you beat. Easy fold. If it was just one player....I might be more inclined to call.

I would'nt fold this river, but I wouldn't raise it either.

While calling is not a bad thing, I think raising has a more positive EV given LLHE players on PP. They could have 22, 33, 44, Ax, Qx, Jx, or just plain crap. The bettor on the river might be just plain ol bluffing as these lame players tend to do with a board like this. Raise.

You've got a bettor AND a caller before you. More often than not in cases like this, you're underpair sucks. They could also have 77, 88, maybe 99, a 6, a K, or a T.

With just a bettor, I think a raise is fine in this situation, but the fact that someone also called here, I'm not feeling too good about my 55. You've gotta win this one in seven times to make it profitable, which is probably going to be the case. But at the same time, I can think of a lot better places I want to use my BB. The fact that you're closing the action makes a call here a bit better IMO.

You should also consider the fact that if you raise you're now opening the door for someone to 3-bet, and if it comes back to you 3-bet, you can't like your hand. If you're going to continue, I think a call is your best option given these circumstances.

Well, I got a fold, a raise, and a call.
That should clear it up.?!

Zulu and Sent, can you give me your reasoning for your actions? Thanks.

I'll say call and hope either that they just overcall with an ace or your pocket pair turns into Jacks when you flip it over.

Edit: Actually I think this exact hand is discussed on p. 69 of SSH now that I think about it.
