Default Is there such a thing as a Bad Game?

What makes a game a bad game. Now I've been in games where just any two cards will see the flop from 4+ people at the table and these 4+ ppl are always in. Now to me that looks like a dream table but recent turn of events for me, is making me possibly reconsider.

Can someone please define a bad game for me because it just seems lately my dream games(that I think I am in) I have been in have been just raping me.

All thoughts and comments are appriciated.

The table you describe is a dream table, you just have to adjust the way you play to take full advantage of it.

A bad table is one where everyone is tight and aggresive.

Why is it everyone likes to throw out that line "you just have to adjust the way you play...", but no one clarifies how to do that?

"adjusting" to the very very loose games is much tougher than most people make it out to be, especially some of the games that play 12-handed and uber-loose.

I also find that most people who make the above "adjustment" statement, have no clue how to actually make those adjustments.

The adjustments to play that nearly insure a 2BB+ gross win rate at super-loose limit hold 'em games are absurdly simple. The act of making those adjustments within a year's time is impossible for nine out of ten.

So, what *are* those adjustments?

What makes them so difficult to implement?

After all 2BB/hr. is twice the oft quoted "1BB/hr. is what an expert expects to make".

So I'm all ears!

I have to admit, my usual strategy for any scenario I don't feel comfortable with is to tighten up and try to come in with the best hand, Probably not ideal, but seems logical.

"So, what *are* those adjustments?"

To play nothing but pocket pairs, AK and AQ before the flop, and to fold on the flop with no pair or nut draw.

"What makes them so difficult to implement?"

Because you have to be insane and perfect.

knock people out when appropriate, pump pots when appropriate, and show down the best hand. no psychology.

Not sure if I understand fully, but this seems pretty obvious to me: A bad game is a game full of better players than you, while a good game is just the opposite.

A game where you can't make money. This occurs when people are better than you, or equal to you, assuming a rake.

If you're playing headsup with Phil Ivey, that's a bad game.

You know you're in a bad game when

1) no one open limps, they always raise
2) no one ever cold calls, they 3 bet or fold
3) The only time you see a flop is when the Big Blind calls

Interestingly enough, you know you're not playing your best when you 1) limp first in, 2) cold call, 3) see too many flops.
