Default Hit a backdoor flush draw - how to extract on river?

Neither person in this pot has done anything out of line. I have two main questions (though, of course, comments outside of these two questions are always welcome).

1 - Is it reasonable for me to stick around on this flop? (I have four outs to the gutshot and a backdoor nut flush draw; One of the outs - Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] might make someone a flush; also have implied odds...)

2 - How do I extract the most on river -- bet and hope for overcalls or check with the intention of raising if someone bets at pot?

I would fold the flop. I think I just lead the river hope MP1 calls, and even better if MP3 raises. If you go for the c/r, 1) It might get checked through, 2) If MP3 bets it is unlikely MP1 will call two bets.

Yeah. There's nothing like turning down good odds.

I fold the flop b/c we're not closing the action, and we have only 3 clean outs on our gutshot. Whatever.

EDIT: Just so you know my whatever was meant to imply that I think that this is close either way, not that I think I am right/wrong.

why fold the flop?? you have a gutshot getting 9.5/1 thats plenty enough to call, the BD flush just makes it easier

um bet the river

I dont think that MP3 will raise this very often. Nor do i think MP1 calls very often, since the river did not complete anything he was drawing to (unless he was also on the backdoor flush draw and then it doesnt matter what we do, well get a lot of action). So betting out in my opition gets us one bet.

On the other hand if its checked to MP3, I think he bets this almost always, and then we get two bets (unlikely, but maybe more)

I think that flop call is pretty close. That said, I'd probably do it, but certainly wouldn't critize someone for folding.

We are not closing the action here, a raise behind would make me sad.

I agree. I think it is potentially dangerous to count 5 clean outs here as making a nut-straight on a 3 flush board COULD make us an expensive 2nd best hand. I would call as I don't tend to look for monsters under the bed but they are sometimes there all the same!
