TPTK OOP against a very strong player
2/4 NL on Jetset, (9 person Full Table). Villain is one of the best players on the site, and is a big winner in the 5/10 NL game. He's best described as a thinking LAG.
Hero is HJ with AdKc, UTG raises to $8, Hero (~1490) reraises to 27, CO (~550) calls, UTG calls. Flop: Kh 7h 2d UTG bets $8, Hero raises to $75, CO calls, UTG folds, Turn: 3h Hero? What's the plan for the rest of the hand? |

[/ QUOTE ] forget the rest of the hand. don't play on a table that you can be outplayed on. game selection, friend! other than that i'd bet 30$ and if he goes over the top let 'er go. EDIT: yikes i misread that. this pot is HUGE. put CO all in his stack is nill. |

He's got over $400 behind... pot is ~$240. [/ QUOTE ] ok so either he has AA/KK and you are going to fold, or you are going to get it all in. you said he was a strong 5/10 nl player. my vote is fold now or push, only because if he has QQ/JJ any pot or 2/3 bet from you looks like/is a value bet, and a push just looks like you're an idiot with KJ. and you're out of position. don't you think if you 2/3 villain might just go over the top anyway if he knows that you know he's good? |

a push just looks like you're an idiot with KJ. [/ QUOTE ] So... we get value from KQ and....... I think a push here lets him play perfectly against you unless he has like KxQ[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], then he might make a loose call. |

[/ QUOTE ] i don't understand the "lets him play perfectly against you". i'm reading this as he will only call with a hand that beats AK...am i right Jim? i think he calls with QQ here. i'm actually highly interested in this hand. what was your turn line? |

Re: TPTK OOP against a very strong player
Eh. Which one is villain? There are some really bad players that might seem decent but are really just overly agressive. If he is who I think you're thinking of, he's just bad. I would probably checkraise this turn all in.

Villain is Zephyr. [/ QUOTE ] edit: Read preflop action wrong. I would probably just check/fold here. Zephyr is pretty decent preflop, I think he calls here with a PP, AK or SC and you lose to all of those that would continue on at this point. |

Re: TPTK OOP against a very strong player
You're right, he's more passive than most of the players in that game, but I've seen him make a lot of gutsy bluffs in the past, and he has taken pots away from aggressors with air, though he doesn't try as often as others, and that's usually with deeper stacks.
