Default A Small Flush in the Big Blind

Villain had just sat down. No reads. Hate it? Like it?

Horrible.

Hero played this hand pretty well.

Flop raise is pretty good, I think. I think waiting to raise a safe turn is also an option. But a player betting a draw might not bet the turn all the time, and raising now is plenty good to protect your hand against anything that might consider folding anyway.

Calling the turn I think is the right play. I can't see any reason to raise and fold to a three-bet or something because you can get to a showdown for the same price. I think folding is probably too weak as sometimes this'll be a bluff. With a read folding the turn can be the clear play, though.

I don't think there's much reason to bet the river, though. Villain may well have a hand like 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or something. There aren't a whole lot of non-flush hands good enough to call here.

You guys are awesome. He had Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

One thing I don't understand, though, is his check on the river. It doesn't make much sense to me.
