Default Vegas low limit poll

I'm heading to Vegas for a business conference 9/19-21 and staying at the JW Marriott (way the hell off the strip). I'm on my 3rd trip to Sin City, but this is the first time that I won't have friends or family in tow, so I’m planning on spending my free time at the poker tables. I hope to play a few 4-6 hour sessions of low limit (up to 5/10) in Vegas proper. Based a forum search, I've narrowed my selections down to 7 places to play, but I'll probably only have time for 3 of these places based on my schedule. Vote for 3 and tell me if I’ve missed any obvious ones.

Thanks,
JerseyNick

MGM and its not close. You left out the Alladin but it was worst room I have tried.

MGM, from this list. I'd add the Aladdin also. Nice room and quite fishy.

First, Aladdin is the only room on the list spreading 5/10 limit now. Second, dump the Rio and the Wynn from the list. Wynn has only a 4/8 game as their lowest, so I wouldn't count that as a place to play the lower limits. (no 2/4, 3/6 or 5/10). Rio, well, they have been hurting since the end of the WSOP.

Photoc: Thanks to you and the others for the Aladdin suggestion. I saw it as an editor's choice on allvegaspoker but somehow left it out of the poll. The Wynn 4/8 is appealing to me because it is the lowest game that they spread and it's been suggested around here that it is filled with inexperienced players. Is this flawed thinking?

Like everyone else, I can recommend the MGM. However I didn't like that you can't be on the list for one game while playing another. So if 2-5NL is full, don't think of playing 4-8 while you wait. Or if you want a 10-20 game but there isn't enough action yet, again you can't play something else while you wait. However the competition is weak, the racetrack isn't as bad as everyone says, and the waitresses are decently quick and sometimes nice looking. I've seen worse dealers, but I've definitely seen better ones too.

I've only played about 25 hours or so at the Wynn, but I think this argument holds a lot of weight. I found the 4/8 games there to be exemplary, though the 9-handed play makes opponents' looser play slightly more correct. Not correct enough to worry about though; this game is again easily beatable. The waitresses are faster and better looking here, and the bar is better. The dealers are also better, and I'd recommend the Wynn if you specifically want to play 4/8.

This is nice to know! I'm going to be staying at the Aladdin in a couple of weeks. I wasn't planning on playing much there other than a morning tourney or two giving most of my play to MGM or across the street at Bellagio with Wynn and Mirage in the mix. I usually stay at the Mirage but I didn't make these arrangments and a good deal was gotten. Maybe I'll be playing a little more there than I had planned?

Can't go wrong with MGM. High tech gadgets, unique room arrangement, great scenery, good drink service, some of the worst post flop play you've ever seen.

If you want to rub elbows with truly lousy pokers players, try the Imperial Palace, but be forewarned it's very low limit, mainly 2/4 and tournaments.

If I were visiting Vegas and could only play at three card rooms, I would play at MGM, Bellagio, and Binions (for the historical value).

And for the wild card, as you're leaving Binions, I would stop into El Cortez for a quick session. Nothing beats this place in terms of atmosphere.

AVP: I dig your site. I considered the Bellagio, but I haven't seen much in the way of postive comments about their low limit games. I played at Binion's on my last visit, so I left it off the list this time.
El Cortez is a definite possibility, but more for their $2 passline craps than for poker (thanks for the tip ACJ).
