Set of K\'s - Maximizing?
I felt like I scared everyone away by leading out on the betting, but I was afraid of the straight and flush possibilities. Should I have played this differently?
As I'm looking at it now I am thinking I played it correctly because if I play it slowly and try to maximize profit, the hands the other players are likely to make will beat my set. Am I on the right path? Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed) Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG folds, Hero raises, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, CO 3-bets, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, Hero caps, MP2 calls, CO calls. Re: Set of K\'s - Maximizing?
I think you played it fine. I don't think you want to chance giving the free card. You always want to win more, but without the absolute nuts anytime your opponent lays his hand down you can't be too upset.

Re: Set of K\'s - Maximizing?
Your betting did not scare anyone. The cards on the table did. Nobody had anything. Don't worry about it. You still won 5 BB.

Re: Set of K\'s - Maximizing?
Well played.
A preflop raiser who caps and then checks the flop looks REALLY suspicious, plus you don't want an (unlikely) flush draw to see the turn for free. So bet the flop. Well played. |

Well played. Sometimes CO has AK or AA and gives you lots of action.

Re: Set of K\'s - Maximizing?
there's no other way to play this unless you want to lose BBs most of the time. There's nothing you can do when no one has the cards to continue.
