This is my first post to this forum. I'm a complete beginner and have begun
trying to learn something about poker. I've been reading SSHE and this forum and trying to figure out what's going on....but definitely feel lost out there. This hand occured last night......Did I play it right? Thanks for any comments, Jim Pacific Poker (.25/.5): Hero is CO with [A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] Preflop: Folds to MP1 who calls, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, MP1 folds, Hero calls. You could make a case for capping the flop, but it seems pretty likely you are beat in this situation, unless the player is the type who likes to pump a draw, just slow down, which you did.
I like it. |

While this post is awesome, careful about plagiarizing the one and only Commodus.

Why do you want to call down? I think you should definitely fold that turn.

With no flush and no straight on the board, so the only hand you have no outs against is a set? Without some sort of read that Villan would ONLY play a set like this, I think that's weaksauce. |

If we only put him on an overpair, what are our odds? If he has AA, when we hit two pair, he hits a set and he 3-bets us.
