I\'m drunk, don\'t hold this post against me . . .
I tell you what pisses me off. How the hell can I be expected to travel and play serious poker if I have to carry fricken $100 bills. Why cant this stinkin government come out with $1000 bills so I can go on the road with 30k and not look like a retard with my shorts being pulled down with 300 $100 bills. Last time I left Vegas, I looked like a disheveled moron trying to get out of town like I just robbed a convenience store and have a bunch of Ho-Hos in my pocket.

dude. FUCKYEA!!!
i hated that trip from vegas...but was thankfully ok w/ it and not nervous due to a friend in vegas informing me that the 10k cash limit only matters so much on international travel. but still, having a bunch of cash, hundreds of bills sucks donkey balls... unfortunately, the US governmnet would much rather make large amounts of cash hard to transfer inconspicuously to deter high crime and terrorism funding than appease crotchety gamblers. so i say this to you with a heavy heart, and heavy pockets... -Barron |

I don't know if this has been mentioned because I didn't read the entire thread, but having played a lot of poker with drug dealers I know those guys don't deal with 100s. A drug dealer goes on the sheet for a few dimes, you are getting paid with a brick of 20s.
Also for your information if you are found carrying over 10k cash it can be confiscated no questions asked. |

They can confisicate anything over $10,000 until you prove where it came from NQA. i.e. if you are carrying 10,002 all they can take is $2.

[/ QUOTE ] It's been a while, but it is not illegal to carry around large sums of $$$, so they can't confiscate anything. In fact it's only the customs regulations that allow them to ask if you have over 10K upon entry into the US. Also FWIW, it is a pain to carry a big wad around, but it sure beats the heck out of sending a wire to the casino and then trying to get your own money from the cage. I just take my briefcase along and put my roll in a pocket there. |

Where can I find it? I was having a debate regarding this with a friend of mine recently. He felt that it was not legal to carry around such large sums of money, and I told him that that's absurd. |
