Preflop: Hero is CO with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, MP raises, Hero ?, (BU, SB, BB + UTG left to act) MP, the preflop raises is 33/11. UTG, the preflop limper is 55/25. BU, SB, the ones left to act are all 40-50/X. Is it ok for me to cold call? How about if there was one more limper? Or is that all the more reason to punish? |

Brief thoughts:
I'm behind to UTG:s range, but not by much. I'd like to get it HUP, but I don't think I can. So I want to get it multiway. By cold calling I can raise favorable flops where I don't set and face peolple with two. |

In this situation I think cold calling is best. You'll probably end up getting 4:1 on your call, and if you flop big you are likely to get action from them.

This is an interesting situation given the passivity of the table and the likelyhood the tag to your right was trying to isolate a weak early limper. I don't know which is best but I think it's possible to make a case for CCing, 3-betting or folding this. Prolly 40% cc, 40% 3-bet and 20% fold. Lean more towards ccing depending on whether your loose passives are the type that limp a lot for 1 bet or will cc themselves.

The UTG is likely to call the raise, the BB is likely to call also (and maybe the SB).
With two to three others likely to be in this pot, I would gladly coldcall here, since a reraise is unlikely to isolate the MP, at a table this loose. |

This is one of those rare spots where I think a cold call is good.

I really think that the CC here is the best option. Playing this hand you need a low flop followed by low turn and river vs callers to win the hand usualy mulitway.
So, for all the times when the flop lands with a 9 or higher you are looking to make trips or fold (about 1 out of 8) therefore you are looking to get back about 8 times the money you put in preflop. so , but in 1BB and look to win 8+ BB when you hit and take down the occasional low board where no one makes 2 pair or a draw. Also, If you do 3-bet here you will find yourself folding on the turn and river A LOT after you put in 4 small bets maybe 6. |
