Hero has been being nagged by girlfriend and forgot to sit out. When he comes back there are two unknowns to his right.
Hero is in the BB w/ K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] All fold to button who calls, SB folds. Hero checks. 2.5 SB in pot. Flop comes, 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero checks, Button Bets, Hero ??? Please humor me in all my stupidity. |

Yeah still. You have the nut flush draw. Bet and call a raise. If you dont make a flush on the turn youll have to fold since the pot is really small.

This is just a math problem. Do the math and someone would be happy to point out any errors that might exist, but I think you'd be much better off figuring this out for yourself.

Well, I've done the math but left it out because I didn't want to lead answers...
Basically, i'm 2:1 to get it by the river, and 4.2:1 to get it on the turn. The pot's laying me 3.5:1 on my call. I've done the math, but I think I've been looking at the wrong numbers. For some reason (I think it might not have been explained in WLLH, first book I read) I thought that the odds to call flop bets were only based on the next card, NOT making it by the river. I always figured the charts that listed odds to make a hand from the flop BY THE river were for when you were all-in in Hold 'Em, as the pot odds would match up *exactly* with the odds of making your hand. So, if your flop decisions are supposed to be made by odds that you'll make the *best* hand by the river, I've been folding WAY too many drawing hands. Not just flush draws. So, whoever said I shouldn't worry about this prolly doesn't understand this could be a huge leak, considering it's frequency and given up earning potential... |
