What to do when...
What do you do when you hold small PP in EP, you limp then someone in MP raises and then someone behind them 3bets.
Only the 3 of you in the pot and assuming you have no idea if its going to be capped or not. |

Re: What to do when...
Getting 7.5:2 means that you'll nead to pick up 3 SBs to make the call, which I think you can.

Re: What to do when...
Although i'm not sure if this is correct, I would fold. It doesn't appear you have the odds (including implied odds) to go after your set. Plus, you get the honor of acting first.

[/ QUOTE ] This is really bad advice. If you flop a set, chances are that the preflop raiser and 3bettor will give you lots of action, and at least one of them(if not both) will stay with you all the way to the river. Folding here is weak-tight. You call the 2 bets preflop, and if you flop your set, you're good, and if you don't, you fold. Acting first is not that bad either. If you hit your set, you can check, and hope that it comes back two cold to you, so you can 3bet. |

Re: What to do when...
Without reads I'd fold. Also, I'd usually take the tendencies of the table into account before limping from EP with a small pocket pair. At a table with high VP$IP and few preflop raises, I'll limp 22 from UTG every chance I get, but when there are usually fewer people in the pot and the pots are frequently getting raised before the flop I'd definitely think twice before open limping a low pocket pair from EP.

Re: What to do when...
Isn't this at least the 4th time in 2 weeks weeks we've had this discussion? Fold only if you don't like winning other people's money.

Grunching
How small? Reads on the raisers? (i.e. Is MP raiser a maniac, w/a possible isolation 3bet behind, etc.). No reads, though, I tend to fold. You're not giving up too much here. -Jaran |
