ATs with interesting river
What's the best river line here? Also should I 3-bet the flop instead of the stop and go?
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Re: ATs with interesting river
I agree with call down line, the betting sure looks like 2 pair or a set. Hopefully it was the 2 pair and you out kicked him with your T.

Re: ATs with interesting river
i don't mind the flop call.
since it's heads up, i am partial to the turn check-raise semibluff. then i lead the river... but i don't know what's better... |

Re: ATs with interesting river
Your hand isn't quite good enough for the planned turn check/raise IMO (on the flop). I just 3-bet the flop and see where it takes me.
I don't mind the stop and go given the setup, but your hand is probably too strong for this play. The stop and go is usually done with a weaker hand that can fold if you get raised again on the turn. The turn card is very interesting. Since you didn't 3-bet the flop, I would check/raise the turn (right out of HEPFAP). You have a very very good hand here. Brad |

Re: ATs with interesting river
Suppose I should explain some more.
I planned on betting almost any turn card and folding to a raise unless that card improved my hand. Obviously the heart improved it so I saw the river, do you think my hand is too good here to check/call? |

If the guy was a real tight limper (he will limp with AK/AQ), then you should not raise ATs preflop. Brad |

Re: ATs with interesting river
I was more worried about a set or two pair. I figured if he raised my turn bet he must have TPGK beat.
How far off am I? |

Re: ATs with interesting river
Depending on the villian's two pair, you have a decent chance of outdrawing him. You only have 3 outs against AK. Against two small pair, you have 8 outs!

Re: ATs with interesting river
OK, so 3-bet the flop and save the stop and go stuff for weak hands I can safely fold to a raise right?
Given the way I played it what's your river line? |
