100% Pure Clay chips, sounds too cheap to be good.
http://cgi.ebay.com/1000-PURE-CLAY-THREE...1QQcmdZViewItem
Feedback looks good but the price makes me skeptical. I love the 3-color look and am sick of my "dice" chips but don't have near the cash for Paulsons right now. |

If those are crap, should I just go for these?

Re: 100% Pure Clay chips, sounds too cheap to be good.
NexGens are one step above the dice chips, but probably not two steps above. The biggest advantages to nexgens are: 1. that they have a recessed center, so they are easy to label and 2. many people like the edgespots/look.
This being said, I'll give three possible recommendations. 1. Faux Clay They're a Plain Jane Chip, but have a great feel and sound and stack very well. Many of the regulars on chiptalk.net recommend these as a starter set. About 6c a chip, plus delivery. 2. Sopranos. This is the other basic chip that people talk about. A little less plain, they have the edge spots, etc. About 10c a chip plus delivery. 3. Sample Set 1 and Sample Set 2 -- This will give you a sample of many of the chips in your price range. Holding the chip in your hand is probably the best way to decide what meets your needs. This would be my recommendation. |

Re: 100% Pure Clay chips, sounds too cheap to be good.
those should be legit clay chips - the James Bond Paulsons, I believe....
I'd stay away from NexGen's if you want authentic Clay - they're nice, but they're NOT clay. Soft and don't have the clank of a metal insert, but again, not clay. RB |

They are just those plastic Nexgen-style chips with James Bond look-alike stickers on them. As in all things on the Internet, if it seems to good to be true - it is! |

Re: 100% Pure Clay chips, sounds too cheap to be good.
So what should i get for the .20-.25 range? I love the sound of the standard dice ones but I'm sick of the look and would preffer the slightly lighter and softer feel.
So pure clay chips don't have the sound? Do casino's use inserts then? |

I think you can find the same style w/o graphics too. A lot of people like the Nexgens/River Poker Tour chips as well. I have custom clays from T.R. King, and they look and sound great. You're looking at about $1 a chip for those. Do yourself a favor and check out www.chiptalk.net - they'll put you on the right track for sure. Good luck. |

Sign up at www.pokersourceonline.com and do the Nevada Jacks skulls promotion. 300 chip set for free. Fullfilling the requirements at Party (you're out of luck if you already have an account there) are incredibly easy, and Absolute poker is pretty easy too.

Re: 100% Pure Clay chips, sounds too cheap to be good.
Thanks everyone for the replies. Im definately not getting the ebay set as looking closely at the picture the chips look poorly cut and jagged on some edges; I assume most are like that if he didn't bother removing those from the pictures.
Ill probably start by clearing that bonus but I've been playing primarily on party for awhile now but I've never played on Absolute so I'll give it a go. Thanks again |

Chips would suck if really 100% clay.
