AJs flop action?
UTG seemed like a solid player after only a few hands but no real read. The tabled played very loose and fishy, big pots with 2nd pairs etc. CO in this hand is one of the fishes, trying to win every hand. I'm loosening up a bit preflop to see if I can hit a big hand.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter UTG ($545) MP ($294) CO ($1034.83) Hero ($712.20) SB ($1101.29) BB ($244.20) Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2. UTG raises to $20, 1 fold, CO calls $20, Hero calls $20, 1 fold, BB calls $16. Flop: ($82) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) BB checks, UTG bets $40, CO calls $40, Hero ??? and my plan for the rest of the hand? |

Re: AJs flop action?
Make it 240 and call a push? Push any turn? Does this sound good.
I am trying to post more in medium stakes to better my knowledge so I would appreciate feedback on my line. |

Re: AJs flop action?
bump it up 200 and call a push
too much dead money in the middle to flat call with such a nice hand imo..especially with opponents showing major weakness |

Re: AJs flop action?
Thanks everyone for some interesting discussion, seems a call is best here although there might be merit for other plays against certain opponents.
For those results orientated like me... I was lost on the flop, went with my first instinct and raised it up to $140. UTG pushed $485. I decided I'm committed and called $345. UTG showed AA. Pottie wins the pot with the flush card on the turn, river blank. My advice - if you misplay a hand get lucky. |

Re: AJs flop action?
if i raise, i make it 140, not 240. vs bad players that call too much, id prefer to make my hand before sticking in huge chunks of my stack, meaning that i dont really feel like playing for my entire 700 dollar stack quite yet (especially since one guy has me covered) if i raise, the reason i do so is because i think i can get a high 1 pair / 2 pair hand to pay me off more when i hit my flush by increasing the pot now rather than later.
it is very likely you are ahead on the flop and will get at least 1 call if you pop it now. this is why i raise vs these guys, not bc i have a huge draw and want folds. if my raise gets called and miss the turn, i check behind and evaluate from there. |
