What % of Zooers are POS scumbags?
Scenario: You have $1k in your poker account at XYZ. You cash it out. Upon looking at your Neteller statement you see that they sent you $2k. Which course of action are you most likely to take?

Re: What % of Zooers are POS scumbags?
Jek, IIRC, you can expect about 40% of the posters here to make an attempt to keep the money. I believe this was approximately the percentage of people who admitted they were thieves in a previous post of mine.

I remember your poll. The latest incident just made me decide to see what it would be under a more concrete and relevant situation. It's the cheap thrills.

I'd like too see if the same people who say this is stealing -do they claim their winnings to the tax man?I think that most don't and if this is so isn't not claiming your winnings stealing?Stealing is stealing I guess but some stealing is more morally wrong than the other.

Sadly, many more than I actually thought would be true.

Re: What % of Zooers are POS scumbags?
You need a third option to your poll:
3) Leave the money in Neteller for an extended period of time and see what happens. Although this might not be the moral thing to do, I believe that a large percentage of people would take this action. |

Re: What % of Zooers are POS scumbags?
Someone else touched on the idea that making it your responsibility to sort it out is unfair unless they compensated you for the hassle of phone calls emails and what not.
It appears a few people believe that the warm fuzzy feeling they get by "doing the right thing" is compensation enough. jek didn't want to give people options in the poll, and now he gets to be judge and jury again. Maybe that is his goal. However, sitting and waiting until they people who made the mistake sort it out is not the same as "stealing" to anyone who has anything other than judgmental blinders over his eyes. I worry about people who jump to considering two classes, POS and like them...in the religious world, I call them HypoChristians...hypocritical Christians who exclude others from "salvation" because they set themselves up as the ones who decide the rules. It gets even worse when they shoot first and ask questions later. What would you do if Neteller had made a mistake the week before and shorted you $500? Or is it just one way? You give back, but don't get compensated? I don't know all the answers, but I am a long way from calling someone a POS without knowing a lot more than was given in the poll...the thread that it spun from covered a lot of ground, but that wasn't made part of the poll...when someone forces me to make a black or white decision...it usually means they have an axe to grind, and it likely isn't going to be fair, so I don't play the game. (yes, I mixed a metaphor) |
