Dell Inspiron 9300 question
I am buying one of these, and was wondering if anyone can help with the processor speed. I play multiple tables and run PT, pokeredge, playerview. It is the Pentium M processor, can I get away with 1.6? They have levels up to 2.0, but someone told me that the difference was probably minimal and the price difference is quite a bit. Anybody have any experience with this/suggestions?
Thanks in advance!! |

Re: Dell Inspiron 9300 question
These things are equivalent to machines much faster than they appear. The 1.6 is going to be just fine. I can't speak to those specific programs, but a 1.6ghz is serving fine as a gaming laptop for a couple of my coworkers with no complaint.

Re: Dell Inspiron 9300 question
I paid $200 more for the 1.8 GHz. Runs like a charm.

Re: Dell Inspiron 9300 question
The difference is minimal. The processor is the only thing I did not upgrade on my 9300 which is otherwise built to the teeth. Not only that, but you can upgrade the processor fairly easily, because on the Sonoma chipset (what the 9300 has), the processors are not soldered in.
