Re: AQ hits draw heavy board
bet the turn. Dont 3bet AQ. At least make a real raise pre-flop. Raise to 1.50 is crap.

Re: AQ hits draw heavy board
bet 2/3 on turn and hope for a free river, fold if he leads. As played river fold is fine. You don't beat anything by the river except QJ

Re: AQ hits draw heavy board
Could you guys explain your reasoning for betting the turn? What hand are we most likely putting the villain on?

Re: AQ hits draw heavy board
hey,
I think you played this hand perfectly. There are many 2-pair combinations which beat your hand on the flop. The turn makes most of those 2-pair combinations a boat. So you're likely beat on the flop, definately beat on the turn and the river was obvious. Part of my reasoning for checking behind on the turn is to keep the pot small. nh |

Could you guys explain your reasoning for betting the turn? What hand are we most likely putting the villain on? [/ QUOTE ] A hand with a Q, a J or a King, or some combination. If he has a pair and king you don't let him draw free. He also might feel that you love your hand and plan on checkraising the river if you bet the turn when you're behind, essentially giving you a free showdown. Also, often checking the turn induces a river bet with a wider range of hands, when you can't call a bet this isn't good. |

[ QUOTE ] Call the river. [/ QUOTE ] why? [/ QUOTE ] Oops, I missed the 4 straight. Yeah, that makes it easier to fold. |
