5/10 77
I do not have stats on villain but he seemed LAGgy. The rest are completely unknown.

Re: 5/10 77
I like your line on the river. If villain is calling the turn with a bare ace and gutshot he'll more often fold to a river bet with his ace high. Same when he has 6, 2, flush draw. Check and let him induce a bluff.
Edit: What turn cards are you not betting here? |

Re: 5/10 77
It looks good to me.
If UTG+1 had ATo or T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], then that's unfortunate. |

Re: 5/10 77
I like it, it's possible he though you were also semi-bluffing a draw on the turn (since it is laden with good draws at that point), and he may bluff with a lot of worse hands than 77 here.
I'm also wonding how you play if it were to check around to the Button and he bet on the flop? |

Re: 5/10 77
I'd probably check the turn (be it right or wrong) but given the bet on 4th, this hand is perfect IMO.

Nice hand IMO. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. I definitely think we should bet the turn, as the combo of the safe turn card and the checked flop mean our hand is best a huge percentage of the time. Being in first position is nice as it looks like we may have missed a check-raise and so a lot of hands with two overcards to us are going to fold the turn, possibly incorrectly. |

Against an unknown I default to value betting the river.

Against an unknown I default to value betting the river. -DeathDonkey [/ QUOTE ] Our line is pretty weak-looking and hence I think villain will actually bet a lot of worse hands on the river anyway. Checking also gives us the added value of inducing bluffs from missed flush/straight draws hoping to fold out other missed draws. So I think checking the river is slightly better than betting but I don't think betting is bad either. Obviously check-folding sucks. |

Re: 5/10 77
Seems to me we are disagreeing on whether "unknown 5/10 full opponent" is the not folding type, or the bluffing type. I have very limited experience in that game so if you say they bluff too much I'll concede the check/call, but more generally, bad poker players call too much, they don't bluff all that much, so I feel pretty safe in mercilessly value betting until I get a better read.
