Default America\'s Biggest Enemy Within............

....but, of course...............no, not cyrus............the aclu dummy, that's who. Who, but the commy, pinko, scumbag, pro-terrorist, amoral aclu would sue NYC for searching people's bags.

Let's review.......we have been given proof of a terrorist method of operation, in at least 3 recent documented parts of the world: Israel, Iraq, and London, whereby backpacks are all the rage for suicuide bombers. Backpacks in densley populated areas are weapons for slaughtering innocents. Proven? absolutely. Is this the only method of the enemies of civlized people used by the crazies? Nope. But wouldn't our leaders be negligent to do nothing? But this lawsuit is exactly what the aclu wants - aiding and abetting our enemy. If they win this suit, it further removes another tool of the authorities to help us protect our innocent civilians that use public transportation. Which, by default, only helps our enemies. And that in a nutshell is the M.O. of the aclu, the Jane Fondas, the CNN/al-jazeera (they are one and the same, only in different languages), the George Soroses, the state of massachsetts, and all the radical left that have attempted to hi-jack our democracy

Default Hey Dufus???????????

.......since you don't know, I think O'Reilly is an arrogant dip-[censored]......duh??? He is a self-hyped, pompous, arrogant bag of wind. Sadly, his picture is right alongside yours when I look up "douche bag" during a google search.

I said it because O'Reilly frequently lambastes the ACLU, and your post sounded like it could have come directly from his show. In fact, when I was watching last night, he said something very similar to what you did during his 'Talking Points' segment, which was later lampooned on the Daily Show.

Anyway, just for kicks, I actually Googled 'douche bag' (my apologies to the mods if 'douche bag' is over the line; I'll accept a deletion of this post without complaint, should the mods feel the need).

Anyway, of the first 10 results that Google matches to 'douche bag':

- two results seem to be literally about how to use a douche bag
- one match brings you to an 'urban dictionary' which defines what a douche bag could mean when used colloquially.
- one is a website which sells t-shirts that read 'I'm a douchebag'
- three results appear to be about Senator Kerry
- one result appears to be about President Bush
- one result appears to be about former Red Sox first basemen Doug Mientkiewicz
- lastly, one result is about how to play the drinking game 'douche bag'

But rest assured, neither I nor O'Reilly appeared when *I* Googled 'douche bag' - I'll keep looking, though.

And a Good Day to the Good Doctor,

As Moderator, I am responsible for overseeing this forum, and for trying to maintain a certain level of respectable conduct and posting quality.

Calling someone "Bill O'Reilly" or "Dufus" is not especially villainous; however, permit me to utilize this opportunity to let all users know that all are expected to strive to uphold certain standards of civility in all of their posting endeavours.

As mentioned elsewhere, in less than a fortnight there will be a "stickied" posting guideline for this forum (which will also include portions of the T of C).

Do allow me to offer sound assurance that it is not my goal to ban users, unless convinced that a sturdy hickory switch and a visit to Zee's woodshed will have no salutary effects upon their behaviour. (Sadly, though, there springs to mind at least one character who would probably prove impervious to any amount of switching. As you might well guess his name, this sentence shall now conclude with a moment of silence).

Well then: Cheers to all, and cheerio, and all that happy horseradish, forever and for aye,

M

Somewhat in my own defense, I really wasn't trying to engage in name calling; Bill O'Reilly really did (and frequently does) say things very similar to Dr.Wogga's OP.

This will of course be duly noted at court-martial.

Default A Remark About Moderators

And a good day back at you.

MMMMMM, as a participant to this forum you have engaged in heated exchanges with numerous ideological opponents. During the course of such exchanges, you have traded slurs, insults and personal attacks (eg calling the other party a "terrorist", akin to a "criminal", etc).

Let me be very clear: Personally, I consider none of those instances as a (bustable) offense for the Politics Forum -- or any other forum, but particularly Politics (and Science/Math/Philosophy). I don't want your posts or posts by Wogga and others to be busted.

But, since the webmasters have decided, for whatever reason, to hire deputies/moderators, I believe that the hiring should be from amongst those who have refrained in the past from extremely antagonistic and/or heated exchanges of opinion!

In world diplomacy, it would be unthinkable to have a Pakistani mediating over the Kashmir dispute, or an Egyptian presiding in Israeli/Palestinian talks, or a Serb regiment monitoring a peace agreement in Kosovo. No, what you see is eager-to-help but otherwise "neutral" parties taking up the job.

If the UN can teach us one thing, that's it.
