Following the 200 mile rule
Would have mucked here if I was following the 200 mile rule, meaning that I'd travelled more than 200 miles to the tournament, I'm able to get away from my hand.
From the Party $200 tourney, about five hands in: I'm dealt AKs in the CO. Five guys limp to me. I make it 100. Button cold calls. The third limper also calls. Flop is: KKT rainbow. Bingo . . . Limper bets 30 into the T400 pot. I decide to just call and see what happens before making my move. Button calls too. Turn is: 6x Limper now bets 55. I feel like I've got to have the best hand, so I make it 350 more. Now the Button moves all-in. Then the limper calls?! Now I'm in a real quandry. I can't very well justify overcalling my entire stack with AK here . . . but what do I lose to? KT and TT? Or is it more likely that I'm up against some kings I can beat. Or aces that got stubborn? Who knows? Aw, what the hell, I'll have a huge stack if I win, and I still have outs no matter what . . . Michael |

instacall, are you kidding me? [/ QUOTE ] This 200 mile rule sounds like a great excuse to play weak tight and ensure you never do well 200 miles away from home...or something. |

Re: Following the 200 mile rule
It was never posted. Good call. Sites differ in chips and doesn't Party differ by buyins of $200 or some big number?

Re: Following the 200 mile rule
2+2 would be so nice if there were not posts like this. OP clearly is asking a question and you are not answering it and then somebody agrees with no reason why. Sure it seems like a call but what can the other 2 have, poker is not just I have TOK and I'm all in. That's [censored] retarded.

Re: Following the 200 mile rule
I don't think so. He said he didn't really care if he lost or not so I really don't think it's results orientated at all.
There was a post last week in the MHNL section about this very thing, having TOK with two opponents acting strong and had some very good conversation and I'm sure that is what the poster would like. Not a pity party. |
