Flop Bet Checkup
Party 10/20 Full
Assume the reads here are the player in the SB is decent as far as tightness and aggression goes, and the players who limped are slightly looser and average as far as postflop aggression goes. Hand 1: Some folds, EP limp, more folds, CO limp, SB completes, I check in the BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 SB) SB checks, I bet ----------------------------------------- Hand 2: Some folds, MP limp, more folds, SB completes, I check in the BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 SB) SB checks, I bet Thoughts? |

Re: Flop Bet Checkup
1. Standard.
2. I mix this up, but yeah a bet here some of the time is good. |

Re: Flop Bet Checkup
do people often have that read on you? "decent TAG, sometimes bets a gutshot but BE CAUTIOUS BECAUSE HE MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING ELSE!" i would take the path that i consider the most immidiate +ev every time, and i'd say that if your oppos really are good enough to take advantage of your betting patterns on specific situations like this one, there's probably plenty of softer 10/20 tables.

Re: Flop Bet Checkup
A bet on this flop will throw the other players off for the rest of this session. They get confused when you bet because your hand ranges are wider. If you see these players again and don't bet this flop omfg are they truly confused. Confusion leads to FTOP errors. Yay.

Re: Flop Bet Checkup
well, thing is, i think mixing it up is tremendously overrated and in most cases really just an excuse to ignore EV. the players that are aware of your capability to semibluff with a gutshot+overs on this board should also be aware of your mixed plays etc.

Re: Flop Bet Checkup
hand 1 i like. hand 2 can you explain? 2 overs, backdoor flush and gutshot. i heard that its 0 EV plus fold equity but i may be mistaken.

Re: Flop Bet Checkup
I like both.
In hand 1 I would be slightly cautious since that 9, and the middle-ish coordination of the board is in the range of a lot of "slightly loose" pre-flop limps. In hand 2, I think you take this down fairly often, and your hand is worth at least 6-8 outs if someone has a piece of the board. |

Re: Flop Bet Checkup
The flop bet in hand 2 is great about 40% of the time.
