Talk me down on this one: College Football
Looking over the lines for this weekend one stuck out at me.
Oklahoma +7 at UCLA at first thought this looked like a steal to me even with Oklahoma not playing that great the first two weeks, but for this to be the line, either I'm just not thinking this through or somebody out there knows something I dont. Discuss? |

Re: Talk me down on this one: College Football
Damn, I was wondering what the line on that game would start at. I would have guessed UCLA +3. How is UCLA's run defense? Obviously OU can't throw worth a damn and a lot would have to change for OU to win (or keep it close) this game.

Re: Talk me down on this one: College Football
I took OU at +228, I think OU is going to bounce back this week. No way they play as bad as they have the last 2 games all year and I'm pretty sure this will be the game they break out of their funk.

Re: Talk me down on this one: College Football
OU is starting 3 freshmen (2 true and 1 reshshirt) on the offensive line. This will be their first start on the road, and UCLA is crazy not to put at least 9 in the box to stop Peterson. I'm not crazy about UCLA's defense either, but I've got to think the under is the smart play here.
To me it looks like Oklahoma is playing their early seson non-conference games as "pre-season" for their Big 12 Schedule, getting some playing time for their freshmen and sophmores. At this point it's hard to predict how they're going to react to their first test on the road, but the early returns from their home games aren't promising. |

Bruin fan here
as you can tell by the username, and I really don't think I'd touch this game.
UCLA run defense is mediocre at best, at least our D-line that is. We can stack the box and all of that but unless Peterson goes down or something he will get his yards. And our secondary is decent but no real studs other than safety Jarrad Page, so we've got to be careful in stacking the box even if OU's Qb's suck. But overall I'd just stay away from this game. There are too many variables. OU might be as bad as they've been or they may have a bounce back game and get their season on track. UCLA may show up flat or come out firing on all cylinders and blow the Sooners out. |

FWIW (probably not much), I had a diehard Sooner fan tell me to put my whole bankroll on UCLA.
