Re: bubble play with equal stack
no
it's -ev u are risking losing the tourney for too small of a % of ur chips...u have more than 10bbs, so u should be thinking raise/fold, not push/fold |

Re: bubble play with equal stack
just fold. or if you're hell-bent on playing, raise to T400.
pushing with this stack is just crazy. |

Re: bubble play with equal stack
So if I want to play raise 3-4 bb and fold if the other big stack comes over the top?
As long as I am over the 10bb mark a push is a poor play no matter what the other stacks are? Or is it just that the other big stack can break me that I don't want to push? The other big stack called the all-in with kings and I didn't spike an ace and was out 2 hands later. After thinking about it I thought I made a mistake and wanted to check here. thanks, cjs |

[/ QUOTE ] The idea is that you push when you risk fewer than 10 BB. This means that either you have fewer than 10 BB, or your opponent has fewer. If you both have more than 10 BB (as is the case here), then you're risking more than you should be. |

Re: bubble play with equal stack
So say Hero's stack was swapped with seat 7's stack so that hero had $1455, would that then be +ev to push, due to having less than 10bbs?

Re: bubble play with equal stack
Your position is great if you consider your position according to chip stacks. Equal stack to your right and small stacks to your left. Each time the equal stack folds you are in great position to steal from smaller stacks.
I wouldn't risk my all my chips against the equal stack here even if I had JJ let alone a medium ace. |
