Playing AKo against a massive stack
We are down to 19 players out of 100. I am UTG with about 8,500 chips, blinds are 400/800 with a 150 ante. I have AKo, the guy to my left is the chip leader with a massive chip stack. My move was to go all in, he folded and I was called by another player who had 10s and got the hand. After the hand, I had an argument with a couple good players who thought that by moving all in I risked being called by the chip leader to my left if he had a hand. My deffense was that if I had made the standard raise (2000-3000) I risk getting called by him with not so good hand and if I miss the flop then playing AKo out of position is not what I wanted to do. What's your input?

Re: Playing AKo against a massive stack
Is it correct to make a standard raise of 3000 when your stack size is 8500??? If you miss then you have to make a bet on the flop for all your chips??? I think you have to stop and go / push no matter what hand you play. NO?

Re: Playing AKo against a massive stack
Even if you raise to 2K and the 10s pushes over the top, you're still calling anyway, so just open push.
I like it. |
