1/2 Live NL
Villain is LAG and trying to steal lost of pots on the flop. We both have about $200. I have AQo in late position and I raise to $8 with 2 limpers. Villain calls on the button. 1 call, 1 fold. Flop is Q x x, two spades and I have no spades. I bet $25, villain goes all in. I put him on a flush draw, as I didn't think he would play a set this way. He also could have been playing Qx this way. I called and he showed 9 5 of spades. Correct to call off my whole stack? I wanted to fold, but was near certain he was on a draw. Sorry if this was a stupid question, but I hate calling off my whole stack like that, especially when I get outdrawn! |

this is a bad beat post.
you got the money in as 2 to 1 favorite. 1 time in 3 you lose. it happens. rebuy and continue. |

Never call an all in when you can get outdrawn.

[/ QUOTE ] Which is why semi-bluffs are so powerful. Fold the flop, you have to "know" he has the flushdraw/worse too often for you to be making this kind of call correctly. Also don't post bad beat stories. |

I actually did not intend for this at all to be a bad beat post. I was wondering about the call...I wanted to fold, despite the fact that I figured to have the best hand. I didn't want to commit my whole stack with TPTK, but my gut told me to call cause he's on a draw. I imagine a good argument could be made for folding here?

Another reason I called was that I think the table perceived me as a bit weak-tight. Villain had seen me fold to aggression a few times and I had a strong suspicion he was putting a move on me, trying to get me to fold.

With no read, I would definately fold TPTK here. However, with your read on the villian, I think your call is OK.

i think this is a very simple call with a read. u r only behind Qx(2pr.)xx(2pr.)& a set+ overpair. if u don't think he plays these hands these ways then u r ahead and would be making a mistake in folding. if u r on a short BR then i could see an argument for folding as it would stop u from being in any other +EV spots for the day. otherwise reload.
