Small Blind with 99
This was a hand from the 500K today (as best as I can remember). I actually got lucky, caught a set and more than tripled up, but am questioning the move. Note that we were in the money and it was going to be a while until that increased significantly. Also, no reads on either player.
Blinds at $750/$1500 My starting stack is $8250 ($7500 after the blind) 4 folds Player with $23000 raises to $5000 (standard raise for the table) 1 Fold Cutoff Raises all in (about $14000) Button folds. Is this an obvious fold for me and my 99? I ended up hitting a set and both players (TT for the original raiser, QQ for the CO) immediately started berating me (and of course PartyPoker) after the hand. Was this play that terrible? Thanks. |

Re: Small Blind with 99
Obvious fold. Against the first raise, you could fold, call, or push. Once another player reraises allin, you need to fold. It is pretty likely someone has a higher pair.
