Default All-In Orgy

Hey all,

Here's one that I thought was at least mildly interesting. 5/10 Stars. Fishy MP ($500) opens for $30. Fishy LP ($175) calls. Button ($950) calls. I've played with him before; he doesn't seem especially good or bad. I ($1000) call in the SB with 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. BB ($950) calls as well; like button, he doesn't seem especially good or bad. $150 in the pot; 5 to the flop, which comes:

T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I lead out for $125, BB thinks and raises all-in for $900 or so. Preflop raiser folds, LP calls all-in for $125, and then button thinks before coldcalling the $900, leaving him with $20.

So, $775 to me with $2200 in the pot. What now? What would the answer be with TT, 99, J7, or 76?

Thanks in advance.

Jeez. I gotta think about this one. Bottom set is not looking as good right now. It looks entirely possible that you could be way behind another set with the cold call. It really looks like someone has a str8. getting just better than 3:1 calling can't be right here can it? Unless they are total tards. I dunno, I'd fold, but wouldn't like it very much. If I had top set, I'm pushing.

I'd fold 88,99, and... 76 here. Call TT. (Does this make sense, given that I'm folding 76? At least with TT I have redraws.) J7 I wouldn't be in a raised pot with, but I'd probably call if I were.

TT you have to call because of pot odds alone yes? The only one that scares me is button, because he has seen the action and still chooses to call all in. He seems to have flopped a straight or hit a higher set than yours.

Getting such amazing pot odds I would be tempted to call, but I would have to muck this. Epecially if people were doing a lot of limping with TT and 99.

I can only imagine calling here w/ TT and QJ.

it's more than safe to say you are behind in at least one spot unless everyone is retarded... but you are getting odds to try to fill assuming that your aren't against a bigger set. so i would definitely call with TT and live with the results.... i would probably call with 99 too. 88 though that is tough. i think i would get away from it on my better days. i would fold the non-nut straights too.

hope you either called and won or folded and would have lost had you called....

With 88 if there is every a time to fold a set on the flop this is it. I would call with TT and hope the board pairs probably fold 99 but I wouldn't be happy about it. I would also fold 67 but call with J7 if I found myself in that position. Tough spot, hope it worked out for you.

Pretty easy fold I think here Mike. Sucks, but calling after the button would be bad poker.

button, he doesn't seem especially good or bad.

an ok player cold calling here (with 20) means danger.

the only way you have a chance here is if the raiser all in has JJ, and the button has QJ. but there is no way to know that, so I fold this one.

hope it worked out, (with whatever action you took)

its funny, almost this exact hand was posted about 5 months ago i think, and alot of posters agreed this was one of the best opportunities to fold a set on the flop.

easy fold with bottom set, as you are getting 2.8:1 on a call and I am pretty sure you are up against at least 1 QJ/J7, and either an overset (you're drawing almost dead) or a hand that ties up your outs like top two. but you know all this .

even against two straights your pot equity is only a little better than 3:1, so I'm going to say I only call with the nuts here mike. I'm just not coming up with many combinations of hands you are against where you have any kind of positive equity vs. 3 allin opponents, even if you assume the short stack has garbage.

I am interested to see what hand combos everyone wants to take 2.83:1 on with top set. there aren't many.
