PokerStars 0.02/0.04 Hold'em (9 handed)
Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero raises, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO calls, Button calls, SB folds, BB folds. Flop: (9.50 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) Hero checks, MP2 checks, CO checks, Button bets, Hero ??? 1) Is this a super easy fold? Or is it worth a call since he could be betting a nine, a flush draw... etc. 2) Does anyone bet out on the flop here instead of checking? |

Yep, easy fold. You're out of position with 3 opponents, and being that they called your UTG raise (and none of them came out of the blinds) you're pretty safe in assuming at least 1 has an ace. Check-fold.

Then why bother raising in the first place? Why not wait until an ace doesnt flop, then bet/raise? Im pretty sure the above, and your advice, is weak-tight thinking. Yes, it sucks when an ace flops, but its times like that when we have to decide if we would rather play poker or masturbate.

I would say it is an easy fold. I think the button has an ace in this situation.. and the K Q has flopped zip.

Do a raise there and see if you can get it heads up, his bet from that position could mean all sorts of things.
If you do, however, you more or less have to bet out on the turn and the river, since he is not very likely to give up a hand like second pair unless he is given ample reason to belive he is behind. If you are reraised now or later in the hand, it is time to give up. I would bet out or check/fold or check/raise depending on the players that are in the hand. k |

I would bet out or check/fold or check/raise [/ QUOTE ] Me too. Seriously though I think given that hero checked in the first place on the flop laying this down is best. I'd much rather raise the button than check/call. Check/calling seems real bad here. I would probably bet the flop because I like to bet, especially when I raise pf. But I think it's probably best to get away from this hand early. It's not that I'm that worried about the A (which is part of it), it's more that combined with two diamonds combined with my hand completely sucks now. |

Lets not get carried away with our new found agressiveness... I think folding is clearly the right choice.

Bet this flop. If you are considering calling the button's bet, why not continue your aggression? Unless you have a great read on your table, i would think its is definitly time to bet.
