Re: Is this just my ego getting in the way?
Josh, I assume you are calling down because you expect a draw to raise and keep firing often enough to make this play profitable? Would you be less likely to call down if the flop had been J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], or do you think that the raggedy board would encourage more bluffs?
In the original hand with the T99 flop, do you fold if a scary turn card comes? The worst cards are presumably cards close in rank to T/9, because if the villain was semi-bluffing with an open-ended or inside straight draw, he likely just hit his straight or one of his pair outs. Is there any turn-river combo that you call the turn but fold the river? All this is assuming you are readless, but that you know the game plays quite aggressively overall. (I think at 3/6 the bluffing frequency is low enough that you can fold this hand either to the flop raise or the turn bet.) |
