Artest Trade Rumors
espn article
[ QUOTE ] Many league executives say Artest might only be a good fit for a coach with a proven track record of working well with players needing extra guidance. Three that fit that mold include Phil Jackson of the Lakers, Pat Riley of Miami and Larry Brown of the Knicks. The Lakers were said by several sources to be one of the teams most interested in Artest, though not to the point where they'd consider trading Lamar Odom. The Heat could trade Antoine Walker, whose salary is almost an exact match for Artest's, while Knicks president Isiah Thomas' refusal to discuss Channing Frye has taken New York out of the running. [/ QUOTE ] You could kind of understand the Heat not wanting to deal for Artest as Shaq is already huge presence down low. And I might be willing to hear why the Lakers wouldn't trade Odom str8 up. But Isiah Thomas is unwilling to trade Channing Frye for Artest? How crazy is that? FWIW - I think the Lakers are far and away the best fit or Artest. It could be Jordan/Pippen all over again. |

Re: Artest Trade Rumors
I'd compare Artest to Rodman before I compared him to Pippen.

Re: Artest Trade Rumors
Lakers should definitely trade Odom. Odom sucks, Artest rules.
