in last night's Party super Thursday early in the tourny.
Hero (t1200) Villian (t1010) Blinds: 10/20 Hero dealt: QQ in MP makes it 80. Villian (just moved to the table) calls from the BB. Flop: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero bets approx. half the pot, villian insta-calls. Turn: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villian pushes blazingly fast. Hero goes into his timebank and eventually just shakes his head and folds. |

Yeah I think the fold is good here. You still have plenty of chips (though nothing amazing), and you can get away fairly cheap.

I think you will double through enough against this random player just enough that it will be +EV. If he flips over a 7, then that's how it goes, i agree that "playing fast with a monster is the new slowplay." (i've had that happen to me in similar situations). But, a lot (and enough of the time) of the time they flip over a flush or straight draw ( or a smaller PP), like i said enough of the time you get comfortable in chip stack in some of these tournaments.

I've learned to respect these donkish pushes unless I have some evidence from past hands to support a call.

you have a strong opening hand , you raise, and then someone makes you defend for your whole stack.this happens to me all the time, but without any reads on this guy what can you do...fold, bust him next time.

[/ QUOTE ] unfortunately that was the last good hand I got for a loooong time. I did have the opportunity to crack AA and KK the same hand, but 9-3o isn't something you call two large raises with... He's in the BB and early in this internet tourney, I'd expect him to call with any two, which means 74o, 44, etc. I'd fold.

Does villian really have a 7 here heads up? Wouldn't he try to slow play more? I think you got played. |
