FT bubble, Battle of the Blinds
I didn't get the exact stack sizes, so bear with me. Down to 10 people, FT at 9. I'm about 6th in chips, but by no means a lock, as I only have about 13k and the blinds are 600/1200/125.
The SB is the chip leader with about 55k. After posting the SB, I have roughly 11k. Everyone folds to SB, who completes. I check with 74h. Flop comes 3h5h2s. Villain bets 1500. There's nothing I can do but push here, correct? |

Re: FT bubble, Battle of the Blinds
I'd say, push. Although I suppose you could call the flop knowing full well you're going to push the turn. Then push the turn, whether he checks or not.

Re: FT bubble, Battle of the Blinds
What's wrong with calling? If I can see this river for less than all of my chips I'd be delighted. I think I'd only push this flop if I felt there was a big risk that villain would overbet the turn.
Against a reasonable villain you are not at all unlikely to be able to check behind on the turn, and then you can valuebet/bluff the river however you like. |

Re: FT bubble, Battle of the Blinds
not pushing is really bad. don't sweat the FT bubble. usually 11->10th is the same jump as 10th->9th, and nobody every talks about the 9-handed bubble.

Re: FT bubble, Battle of the Blinds
Yeah, the money aspect didn't bother me too much, any sort of decent return didn't start until about 4th place, and I wasn't going to be able to "limp in" that far.
I did push, and he called with 54o, making me a 58% favorite, but I didn't hit. Thanks for the feedback. |
