Re: What DO Most people DO here??
I don't mind a call here. You have position on this guy. As always if you have a read on this guy you might want to fold/raise.

Re: What DO Most people DO here??
I think I would re-raise but only a small amount to try to "buy out the blinds". You don't want to be seeing a flop with AKo out of position if they come along for the ride.

Re: What DO Most people DO here??
Any reads on MP3, CO, and button?
I'd take one of the following, depending on which gear I'm in: pre-flop a) cold-call, see the flop. b) raise to 150-180 to steal button This really depends on your reads (if you have any) and your table image (again, if you have any). With a super-tight/agg image, where your cold-call would be considered a monster; he would probably check to you if he didn't hit or minibet, where you could bet 1/2 the pot or more and steal it right there. On that note, t250 is a ridiculous raise with AKo considering this guy is UTG. Its $11, right, and he's as likely to have 32o as AA at this point, but I wouldn't get married to my AKo to raise t250 with. Any PP is a favorite over you, and a default 3BB from UTG feels like a mid-PP or a hand close to yours. Edit: holy [censored] this is a $55, I would definitely give that guy credit for a hand. |

Re: What DO Most people DO here??
The stacks make it look like a $55.

I call. I think the second best choice is pushing.

I call. This is a $50+, and I'm generally going to give some credit to an EP raiser.

Re: What DO Most people DO here??
Call or possibly fold. A UTG raiser at $55s, I'd assume I'm usually up vs a PP. I think a push is terrible since QQ will usually call, and KK+ will always call. A lower PP will often call, and you don't want to be taking coinflips.
I don't like a reraise because I will fold to any push. AK is an unmade hand and not one I want to risk my tourney life on this early. You have quite a few to act behind you, and a push from UTG is very possible. I think calling is usually the best option. It's a hand you want to see a flop with, but one you want to be able to get away from. Calling allows this, and doesn't allow UTG to reraise. Against a decent player I'd fold. |

Re: What DO Most people DO here??
I would also call in this spot and see what the flop hits and proceed from there. If anything you have hidden a monster if the flops hits you well, and if not you can tread lightly and may be able to get away a little cheaper.
