xp login
The xp login screen used to show my login name and a white box underneath to type in pw. For some reason it stopped showing the white box and now I have to click on the name before the white box appears. Anyone know how to get back to how it used to be, already having the white box when I booted?

Re: xp login
You can hot ctrl alt del to bring it up in that manner but I don't know how to reset the default to that type of log-in. In fact I didn't thnk it was possible in XP.
Did you recently download the .net framework windows update? |

Re: xp login
I did install (and later uninstalled) .net a couple months ago - might've been around the time I lost the white pw box.
I also noticed right away .net was screwing up windows explorer (instead of shading when moving a file graying out a folder you pass over, it grays out before you pass over the folder; the "insert here" cursor when dragging files into sorted folders is also messed up now)... Mike |
