Stainless steel cards
I found a link to these on fark stainless steel cards they look real neat but way too expensive, at over $300 it makes kems look like chump change. And probably a real pain to shuffle. Still an interesting idea I think.

Re: Stainless steel cards
I only see a few problems with these (well, other than the cost!)
- Unless they have more than one back pattern, you're only going to use one deck - Throwing the cards now becomes a criminal offense - Any issues with static electricity on the felt? Giving someone with a pacemaker a surprise jolt could end your game for good. Other than that, sign me up! :P |

Re: Stainless steel cards
I'd imagine any moisture/spill would create a surface tension bond between the cards and make the deck very tough to work with.
Shuffling/Briding/etc could be tough... Back patterns seem like they'd be tough to get precisely the same... particularly with the grain of the steel... an adept player could likely memorize dark spots in the grain on key cards... That said, these are a novelty deck no doubt.... neat idea |

Re: Stainless steel cards
Thanks for the link. These look pretty cool. I'm thinking I'll pick me up a set in a month or two, have them framed, and stick them on my wall.

Re: Stainless steel cards
I see they come in a sheet and you have to punch them out to use them, that means the edges are not "smoothed" out. Seems like it would be easy to cut yourself with them.
