Default So I hear poker has made a comeback in Atlantic City

Sadly enough, I have never played in a poker room in Atlantic City other then the Trop the Taj Mahal or the Borgata. I put myself on the list for 1-5 at the Harrahs, however I left before they called my name.

Has anyone played or does anyone play regularly in the less frequented rooms?

Does the Claridge have a room again? I think Max Power told me he played at Resorts. Does anyone really play at Ballys or Caesars. How about the Sands. The Sands hosted the original pot limit game and the original 5-10-15 stud game and the 10-20-30 hold em game.

I was in AC Thursday night, after i busted out of the Taj Tourney, went to go meet my brother and wife at Resorts, saw 3 or 4 poker tables in the middle of the casino. I think they were all 2-4 though.

Speaking of poker in AC, I played at the Trop on Friday, needless to say, I was pretty impressed. The highest limit game they spread was 10-20 (and I don't even think that is offered all the time), but the room was pretty nice, the comps aren't bad. The only bad thing was the infrequent waitress service (which the Borgata is best far and away). I think this might be the best room for low limit players (2/4 - 6/12, 1/2-2/5 NL) as the waits aren't near as long as at the Borg.

I played at Harrah's once, the night before one of the WSOP tourneys in Jan, the room sucks, didn't see a waitress in 6 hours and dealers didn't know what they were doing. I will never play there again.

borgata is opening a new room next summer, apparently they're adding 100 tables or so. floor said it was gonna be 3 times the size of the current one. so that should cut down on some of the waiting lists (hopefully). can't wait

Last time I spoke with the floor they said the plan had changed, the expention will be to take over the simylcast room and build out where the high limit room is. Origionally many heard that the poker room was going to move upstairs where the club currently is.

PS: Last time was around the new year.

I've gone down quite a bit since then and every time they have a different story. I think the last one I heard was that they were knocking out the back wall in the poker room. This is also the one I've heard the most.

The loud pile driving on weekday mornings that can be heard in the poker room (louder as you approach the far wall), in addition to the responses from the floor and dealers when asked what all the racket was all but confirms this.

Two weeks ago I went to Ballys to see what they were spreading. The max limit hold'em game was 5/10. They also had a low limit NL game.

The Sands I went to last year. It is a small room located upstairs in the same room as the horse betting. If you are not looking for it you would never find it. They spread only low limit games too, and I remember the dealers being slow (table games dealer), although they let you buy chips at the table.

Resorts I walked through and they had one table going, it looked like 2/4.

The big 3 are the only games in town, in my eyes at least. House of Blues will make it 4.
