Over 50 Forum
I think it's called for. Andy will moderate--and he may let in a few honorary 50 year olds. Motto: "Don't trust anyone under 50."

Few women will admit to being over fifty Otherwise I'm in of course ~ Rick |

Re: Over 50 Forum
You need an entrance exam.
Like, maybe you could ask: What is a typewriter? What does it mean when you say a television show or movie is in "black and white"? What is the Geneva convention, and how many times a year is it held? You could have some multiple choice questions, too. "Rock and roll" is: A) The name of a band selling CD's on late night infomercials B) A term used in the armed forces that means you should start fighting or driving C) A flavor of ice cream D) None of the above. |

Re: Over 50 Forum
If you're over 50, you've likely had the "entrance exam." And if you're over 50, you know what I mean.
I'm in. My first book was "Win at Poker," by Jeff Rubens, bought in hardback in 1968. I wish I understood it as well then as I do now. Would have saved me a lot of money and a whole bunch of discouragement. |

Re: Over 50 Forum
Good point! Goes to show how old I am--that kind of distinction generally doesn't occur to me right off. But, "exit" exam? Carries a connotation that is getting a lot closer at this age. So let's enjoy it while we can!

Re: Over 50 Forum
As long as you don't have to diagram sentences. For the life of me I can't remember how. I just remember doing them over and over again.
