Anything I could have done different?
Paradise (blinds $0.10/$0.25)
Seat 1: MP2 ($31.00 in chips) Seat 2: LP ($9.00 in chips) Seat 3: CO ($23.15 in chips) Seat 4: Button ($23.40 in chips) Seat 5: SB ($18.65 in chips) Seat 6: BB ($7.45 in chips) Seat 7: UTG ($100.68 in chips) Seat 8: UTG+1 ($36.45 in chips) Seat 9: Villain ($17.50 in chips) Seat 10: Hero ($24.15 in chips) Hero [ 7s ][ 7d ] UTG : Fold UTG+1: Call ($0.25) Villain: Raise ($1.50) Hero : Call ($1.50) MP2: Fold LP : Fold CO : Fold Button: Fold SB: Fold BB : Fold UTG+1: Call ($1.25) *** FLOP *** : [ 3s 8h 7h ] UTG+1: Check Villain: Bet ($2.60) Hero : Raise ($6) UTG+1: Fold Villain: Raise ($6.80) Hero : Raise ($16.65) Villain: Call All-in ($6.60) *** TURN *** : [ 3s 8h 7h ] [ Ks ] *** RIVER *** : [ 3s 8h 7h Ks ] [ Kd ] *** SUMMARY *** Pot: $35.05 Villain shows [ Kh Kc ] (four of a kind, kings) Hero shows [ 7s 7d ] (a full house, sevens full of kings) I am on a terrible run of cards at the moment. 2 tabling, seen 115 hands, won 2. Anyhow, I think I am weak tight, maybe/maybe not in this hand, but I seem to be easily scared off a pot if I don't hit my hand on the flop. Any words of advice on changing this? Any opinions welcome. |

Re: Anything I could have done different?
You're being results oriented. Obviously runner runner quads aren't going to happen to often. Is a loss like this is going to rattle you for awhile, then take a break or drop down in limits until you get your confidence back. We've all had runs like this. I think you know there's no other way to play this hand. Nothing wrong with asking for advice when you're down, but don't disguise it in a bad beat post. Not many people will respond. Re: Anything I could have done different?
getting the money in with middle set is ok. seems pretty obvious he has an overpair this is a good situation against a two outer. once the moneys in there isnt anything that you can do.
play more aggressive using your position. i prefer to play much tighter up front and almost always come in with a raise. you can get many players to lay downs hands by betting if you have gained the button. remember not to fall into a predictable pattern and you are gonna have to show down the goods once you do get called. once you determine who the weaktight players are at the table try to take advantage of that situation when you have position on them. just a few thoughts i see that he did have kk and hit----eh----it happens but not so much that it will not be profitable. beer |
