No idea how I should\'ve played this.
I'm almost completely new to Stud 8 or better, so I really have no idea if I played this hand horribly or not. I thought the player with the 3 spades showing was still drawing after he just called on 5th street, so I check-raised on 6th to make him call a double bet. Was this a bad play? How might I have played this hand?
Sorry I didn't convert this, but the page to the converter I use seems to be down. There is a link to stud converter in this forum's FAQ...makes it easier to read.

Re: No idea how I should\'ve played this.
I fold 4th since you have no low outs and can easily get scooped.

Re: No idea how I should\'ve played this.
Fourth is a fold, you could be behind for high to 2 pair, there is one good low draw out with straight potential, the other villian might have a four flush. This is one of those hands where you either lose a lot or win a little. Fold and save yourself some money unless you are a world class hand reader.

Re: No idea how I should\'ve played this.
Tough hand. Fourth didn't come down well at all, but I don't think calling is the end of the world. Fifth is a definite fold. The spade guy could well have a flush (and should if he has reasonable starting requirements, which apparently he does not). If he doesn't have the flush, he's probably drawing to one. The low hand could have a straight, or he could easily catch one by the river. Or you could get beaten some other way. It's possible that you have the highest hand at this point, but the likelihood of it being best on the end is not strong enough to be putting in three or more big bets to see if maybe you can escape with half of this pot.
If you don't have it, get Ray Zee's book. |

Re: No idea how I should\'ve played this.
I would probably just fold third. Raise if I was on tilt. I would then fold 4th after I found out that I had three other opponents. I want to be HU with these types of hands if I can and never more than three opponents.

Re: No idea how I should\'ve played this.
Yeah. I guess I am quite a fish at Stud 8 or better right now.
