A few quick PF questions
1) Button raises, SB calls and you have 76s in BB. Call or fold?
2) Co raises Button CC, youre SB with 77 or a lower PP. Call or fold? 3) Button raises, SB calls, youre BB with K8o. Call or fold. 4) UTG+1 raises, all fold, you have KTs in the BB. Call or fold? Thanks. |

Re: A few quick PF questions
Thanks for the answers but would you really 3bet with something like 55 here?

Re: A few quick PF questions
Rory, do you, like, read the posts on this forum? Are you just trying to be different?

Re: A few quick PF questions
I only read the posts about playing more hands preflop and the posts about 300 BB downswings. The postflop posts are too complicated.

Re: A few quick PF questions
I'd like to hear why you want to play 77 against probably exactly two other hands while out of position . . .

Re: A few quick PF questions
well, in terms of pot odds you are getting 1.5:5.5 or 1.5:6.5, depending on whether or not the bb calls. This is about the same as overlimping a small pair after 2 limpers, where you are laying 1:3.5 or 1:4, depending on the sb action.
In terms of implied odds, the comparison is out of positon vs a preflop raiser and a cold-caller or with position vs blinds and limpers. The former is clearly better, but the pot is almost twice as big, so you have to make more to cover the gap. Again, perhaps a tossup. So this play is comparable to limping a small pair after 2 limpers. Not hugely +EV, but playable. -muz |

Re: A few quick PF questions
What I would do:
Call Call Fold Call I'm not confident in what I do for 2 and 3. I'm interested to see what other people say. |

Re: A few quick PF questions
Not saying you guys are wrong, but could you explain what you gain by 3betting 77 from the sb.
