Re: Gettin tricky TPNK
Care to elaborate? I thought it really seemed like CO was on something weak, and TAG really really looks to be on an A that wants to get to SD. My hand looks like a monster.

Re: Gettin tricky TPNK
Check/call flop, c/r turn on a board like this often means a monster. Your line looks fine to me. As long as you've been playing solid, they need better than 1 pair to call you. This is not chip spewing, but if you don't end it here, you're done with the hand.

Re: Gettin tricky TPNK
I know this line looks like a monster to a normal person playing high limit NL but this is not a normal monster line at 400NL it looks like a semibluff/ complete bluff. The other key bit of information is that the original raisers bet of 20 generally means he is willing to call a big raise. Most 400NL players will call any size raise short of an all-in if they bet 1/2 pot or less. I'd think this bluff would be better if your opponent had full potted it.
I know this seems crazy but I've 25K hands of 400NL in the last two weeks and those are the observations I've made. At 1000NL this bluff has a high success rate but 400NL this raise is chip spewing. |

Re: Gettin tricky TPNK
The CO weakness might mean he has a very strong hand and wants you to stay in the pot.
If you take the check-raise line, do it on the flop so you don't throw away $100. (Raising $40-$50 on the flop after the CO bet $10 would have had the same effect and given a better idea where you stand.) |

Re: Gettin tricky TPNK
I don't understand. Do you think this is a good bluff or a good raise for value?
