So I flopped this set, right...
Party 20/40, 8 handed, normal/good. I raise from MP with 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Button (no stats, seems decent) 3-bets. BB caps (32,14,1.8 over 170 hands). I call the 2.
Flop is rainbow T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. BB bets, I call, button calls. Turn is a 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. BB bets, I raise, button waits then folds. BB 3-bets. I cap. River is A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. BB bets out, I raise... Seemed fairly standard, except for maybe the river, but when I discussed the hand with a friend/good player, he said I probably misplayed at least 3 out 4 streets. So I thought I'd put it to the indubitable acumen of the minds here to check whether I'm leaky or not. Thanks. |

PF fine
Flop Good Turn Good River I definitely call -- you're already representing a set w/ your turn-cap. You really think he leads with JJ,QQ,KK when A rivers after you capped turn? |

Re: So I flopped this set, right...
you're getting 6-1 to call 2 cold pre-flop...am i wrong in suggesting you fold this, simply because you're aren't getting the proper odds to call? Is it because your implied odds if you hit your set are that great?

Yeah, i think this river raise is bad though. Does he have A-10?

Re: So I flopped this set, right...
generally even though it is 7.5 to 1 against hitting a set if you are getting 5 to 1 with a pocket pair it has a positive expectation because of implied odds.

I like raising the flop here. You've got a couple of folks that seem to like their hand and I think that you can get in multiple bets in on both the flop and turn.
On the river, it kind of looks like AA got there or TT had you all the way, just call, maybe he'll show you AT |

I also like a raise flop, call 3bet, raise turn. I don't raise the river after you cap the turn and he still bets. He'd have to be very aggro to do that with AT.

Re: So I flopped this set, right...
i think unless he is a total monkey he puts you on a set, so i just call the river.
depending on the opponents i sometimes raise the flop, but i like your flop play here. |
