2/4 Folding a flush when board pairs on river
Villain is 30/6/3 By the river, I figured I was ahead of exactly a bluff and that's it. Is it ok? What do you put him on?

Re: 2/4 Folding a flush when board pairs on river
I think you played this hand like crap. Villain could have AA, JA, (w/ a missed club), who knows. Id either block this river or c/call depending on my opponent's tendencies, but usually I block (value?) bet.

Re: 2/4 Folding a flush when board pairs on river
AA? He played this hand immensely strangely if he had AA. Certainly not like a player with his aggression statistics would.
AJ seems at first glance a possibility, but I highly doubt he'd check the flop and then call a small bet on the flop with it, again, especially not with his aggression rating. It seems to me that he either has a flush, which is most likely higher than mine, or a slowplayed set turned into a full house. Even aggressive players tend to slowplay sets at times, but rarely top pair. Ryan |

I wasnt really trying to predict his hand so much as demonstrate his range is still pretty wide on the river. I agree AA is unlikely.

Re: 2/4 Folding a flush when board pairs on river
I'd lead the turn a little larger. I was contemplating a turn check/push here, but there are two very obvious risks here that make it not the best line.
As played, I think I lead the turn for 1/2 pot and fold to a raise. Give yourself a chance to win the pot at least. |

Re: 2/4 Folding a flush when board pairs on river
I prob call river. I'm usually willing to call 25bb on river bet that's less than pot, even with paired board. He could have AcTd, or KcJh type hand.

Re: 2/4 Folding a flush when board pairs on river
If Villain is any good his flop bet tells us a lot about his hand. He's not protecting against the flush draw, he is either trying to get a cheap flush card or hoping he get raised if he has a set. You are behind both hands.

Re: 2/4 Folding a flush when board pairs on river
I really think that villain would have ck raised/led with a set on that flush draw flop. Therefore, I think if he is beating you, he has a higher flush most of the time.
This is very read dependent, but I think you are good here enuf to make the call on the river... |
