mae OUT
i won't bore with details because i have to go slash my wrists now, but quickly.
i was on button with ~11k TWO players eliminated from my table in first 20 minutes, so there were 2, 20k stacks. me in 3rd place with 11k back to the hand. it was folded around to cutoff (one of the 20k stacks). cutoff limps. i look down to see 2 pretty ladies and raise to 300. blinds fold, cutoff calls. flop 448 cutoff gets passive, granny gets aggressive. yada yada granny qq, co aa BYE granny, nice to see you. sorry investors. but, i would not have played it any different if it happened again. i absolutely was certain he did not have aa or kk because he never did anything but call. apparently he was trapping, but he says the 44 on flop scared him (like i would have a 4 in my hand.) you just kept betting or did he raise? [/ QUOTE ] i bet flop and turn very stong. followed through on river when a blank came and he *then* he raised my last 2,100 (knowing only a 4 or fh would beat his aa). i called because i put him on TP (10's). no overs ever came, and no flushes or str8's were possible, so i just could not get away from it. only a FH, aa or kk beats me and i did not put him on those at all. i did contemplate folding for the last 2,100 and in retrospect, i should have. however, i had overpair to the board and a passive caller that took 3 minutes for each call, making me believe i was way ahead. funny thing is that i had a long talk with phil gordon 3 minutes after i busted out. he is a great guy and i said "i won't tell you the hand because i hate beat stories too, i just want to know how you deal with going out so early when there is such a buidup" he was getting lunch, and he said 'here, sit with me'. then he Insisted i tell him every single action and card. he says my only mistake was over betting the flop and turn(i potted). he said if i had 1/2 potted, i would have been able to release at end with 5k instead of tossing in the ~2k because i had been too aggressive. he said first error compunded... i KNEW i was going to be TAG, but i went overboard, and once i started the pot bets against a stack that in WORST case would have dropped back to nearly his 10k start. he was amazed the kid did not make any play with the aces, but again, that's my fault for overbetting. i wanted chips in this thing so i had a chance. i was not going to play my usual tightass game and it cost me. had the 44 not flopped, i still would be playing. i loved the flop. finally, phil answered my original question with the obligatory "better now than later. imagine 20 hours or more of play and getting nothing. then he said i can now enjoy vegas. i said to myself, if i had your money, i would think that way too. seriously, he is a great guy and was very approachable. he 'consoled' and chatted with me for 30 minutes. now i go to bellagio and play 30-60. btw, i looked up and saw shauna and denise wearing granny shirts, who had come to say hello at the start. 40 minutes later i saw them again in the trade show and she looked at me with those "you are out? eyes". so i got a biggie hug from her too. i felt like telling her to tear that shirt off because it was shameful now that i busted, but they looked too good in them. wooo tomorrow i go sweat her. |

Re: mae OUT
I saw Shauna also. She broke the bad news. She is getting treated very well by The Gaming Club. She wishes she had internet access (left laptop at home).
Bottom line is: limo service from airport, great room at the RIO, and a fantastic meal last night. |
