Q9s, paired board

i limped preflop because of the hand and the table action -- not much pfr but lots of callers. on the flop i was very apprehensive because i'm almost wa/wb here (if he has the T, the 9 isn't an out, and the Q might give him a boat). on the turn i think i should have given it up but i'm not sure. Re: Q9s, paired board
I raise that flop. You're ahead pretty often here.

Re: Q9s, paired board
3 bet - calldown or fold?
call - bet out? i find sometimes i get trapped, if he just calls he has a T but thinks i have him outkicked. |

Re: Q9s, paired board
Keep betting if no further aggression show. If 3bet, I'd call it down. If they check-raise the turn however, I think you're in big trouble and I'd fold it.

Re: Q9s, paired board
I don't like just calling in 5 max so this is a clear raise for me pf. It plays differentyl after that but the way you played it pf, I would raise the flop and keep betting on turn. If you do this and you get c/r on turn or river, I guess you are in bad shape.

I like the limp. [/ QUOTE ] Why? I honestly can't see any reasons to like it. |

Re: Q9s, paired board
it's a good limping hand in late position, but given the table thre isn't much difference -- i know i'll get callers. though i'd rather have 5-6.

[ QUOTE ] I like the limp. [/ QUOTE ] Why? I honestly can't see any reasons to like it. [/ QUOTE ] The purpose of raising marginal hands in late position is usually to attempt to win without showing down either pf or with a flop/turn continuation bet. Some ace high and small pair hands can also stand getting looked up on the river. you can't show this hand down UI though, and you often wont get headsup with a raise since a limper is offering much better odds to the blinds - expanding thier ranges. You don't have enough equity to raise for value, as you'll have to catch to win most of the time. This hand can win against these ranges by catching in a lot of ways (including just pairing up), and plays well enough multiway that we don't mind seeing the bb get in for free. we have position, and can dump quickly. We can also pump when we hit. what would you rather do with it? |
