2+2 = winning money in MTT\'s????
OK, so I've been lurking and reading 2+2 for a couple days, and I finally joined today (yesterday now i guess). Since then, I cashed in 2 straight Party MTT's, won $103 in a $30 tourney, and now I just WON a $20 tourney with 1120 players for $4704!! Definitely my biggest win ever, best before was a $2200 victory in a live tourney. Thanks to everyone for all the insight I gained in such a short time, apparently it made a difference!

Step 1 - join 2+2
Step 2 - lurk Step 3- profit Nice job on the tourney win! Not to hi-jack or anything, but I had my first 4 digit score a few days ago. This board is so +EV, it isn't even funny. |

Re: 2+2 = winning money in MTT\'s????
Congratulations!
But be careful & realise that these wins could be at least partly explained by variance. You will not win $4K everyday. Also be very careful to not hastely jump to much higher limits. (Advice from a guy who had a similar run to yours and who is now sitting with a tiny bankroll). Apart from that welcome to 2+2! Joining this forum is probably the biggest +ev decision of your poker "career". Peace. |

Re: 2+2 = winning money in MTT\'s????
Thanks for the advice. I've also had to learn from experience that a big win doesn't mean that you can suddenly jump up to higher limits. That didn't work out too well for me the first time. I plan to stick to my low limit no-limit cash games with the same $20-30 buy-in tourneys on the side for a while until I really prove something to myself. Plus there is the fact that I need some of my winnings to pay off my credit card bill! Tournament poker brings with it so much variance that I am well aware that I'm not going to be winning like this every week or month, let alone every day. Regardless of the future, I'm one happy poker player right now.
