No content, not even a stud hand, but....
This is where I post, so here it is. I'm sure there's an appropriate hand converter out there, but I don't feel like looking for it.
First hand in a $30+3 Sit 'n' Go on Stars. Initial stacks are T1500, and the blinds are T10 and T20. Guy limps in early position and someone raises to T110 two off the button, with everyone else folding. I have A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in the small blind and make it T300. Big blind, apparently citing the seven-percent-in rule, calls. Early-position limper re-raises all-in. All three of us call. The hands: Early-position limp/re-raiser: TT Late-position initial raiser: JJ Andy B: AA Call-all-bets big blind: KQo Jack hits on the river and that guy quadruples up. I've seen people go bust on the first hand of these things before, of course, but I don't think I ever had, and I've certainly not seen three people go out quite this quickly. |

I probably would have just pushed right away. maybe the one guy with a brain would have been the one with jacks...probably not though

If you can convince just one of those hands that it might not be worth it you've helped your chances in this tourney significantly. |

[/ QUOTE ] why not? It is the same concept with big pairs in stud. You are much happier when it is heads up then with a lot of people drawing. Especially in this spot, there are a lot of chips in the pot already compared to the blind level, you dont want to give someone a chance to do exactly what happened. |

[/ QUOTE ] The horse race concept is not nearly as big a deal in HE. Espically if you think your opponents could likely have PPs. Now you only have to dodge 2 cards per opponent. Horse racing would make much more sense if you had AK and didn't want a QT or 87 to come along. You don't have a big edge against those opponents. And the in the said hand when you get 3 other callers you'll quadruple up 55% of the time. And you'll pretty much have the tourney won then. |
